Welcome to the JTSN Therapist Directory.
The Therapist Directory is a list of U.S. trauma psychotherapists who completed a 6-month Dart Center training program on treating journalists with occupation-related stress and trauma.
Therapists in the Directory provide fee-for-service treatment. To find out if JTSN has current therapists-in-training who offer free therapy, click here.
To find a therapist in the Directory, PLEASE SEARCH WITHIN THE U.S. STATE WHERE YOU CURRENTLY RESIDE. (U.S. therapists can only treat clients who are physically located in the state/s where they are licensed—even for virtual sessions.) If you do not see your state below, unfortunately no JTSN-trained therapists are currently permitted to work in that state (see FAQ).
JTSN does not provide funding for therapy. Please see our Resources for Journalists page for information about low cost therapy and therapy grants for U.S.-based journalists.
PLEASE NOTE: JTSN, a project of the Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma at Columbia Journalism School, does not provide direct treatment or psychological services. JTSN provides education and technical resources to therapists who work with the unique population of news professionals. If you work with a psychotherapist located through the JTSN Directory, that therapist will be treating you within their private practice, under their own liability insurance. JTSN and the Dart Center have no financial or legal relationship with therapists who have completed JTSN training, and assume no responsibility for psychotherapy services provided by JTSN-trained clinicians.
Please see our FAQ if you have additional questions.
